Piglet Support

Learn to read and write Hangul — the Korean alphabet.

Need a hand? Email [email protected] and describe what you were doing when the problem happened. Including your device model and iOS version helps a lot.

Common questions

I can't hear any pronunciation

Piglet uses the Korean text-to-speech voice built into iOS. If no Korean voice is installed, the app hides its listening questions and shows a note on the lesson screen.

To add one: SettingsAccessibilitySpoken ContentVoicesKorean. Also check that your device isn't muted and that the silent switch is off.

My tracing keeps getting rejected

Writing practice scores your stroke against the reference for shape, length, and direction. If it feels too strict, open the Progress tab and set How closely your tracing must match to Forgiving. If it feels too easy, set it to Strict.

Two things catch people out: strokes must be drawn in the direction the arrow shows, and they must run the full length of the dashed guide. After three misses, a Skip stroke button appears.

Can I turn writing practice off entirely?

Yes — Progress tab → Writing practice → off. Lessons then go straight from the teaching cards to the quiz.

I'm not getting review reminders

Check that reminders are switched on in the Progress tab, and that notifications are allowed for Piglet in SettingsNotificationsPiglet.

Reminders are deliberately quiet. Nothing arrives between 9pm and 8am — anything due overnight waits until 8am. Characters you have just missed come back in about ten minutes, and that one does not trigger a notification, because it is meant for the session you are already in.

Why is a lesson locked?

Lessons unlock in order — finish the one before it and the next opens. This keeps syllable blocks from arriving before you know the letters they are built from.

How do I start over?

Progress tab → Reset progress. This erases every review record, streak, and completed lesson, and cannot be undone. Your preferences are kept.

Does Piglet need an internet connection?

No. The whole course is bundled in the app and it works fully offline. Piglet makes no network requests at all.

Is my progress backed up?

Progress is stored only on your device. There is no account and no server, so deleting the app permanently erases it, and progress does not transfer between devices.
